As I started with a blank page, I thought, "What would I want to know about someone in order to care enough to follow their blog?"
I'll give this a shot -- I live with my husband, our son (when he's home from college) and our dog, Shep, in the Colorado mountains. I've discovered an adult love of the color pink, Hello Kitty, and conservative bling -- basically girly things which I didn't pay attention to as a kid. I'm not a technical whiz, as you'll see with photo placement on this page, and the fact that I need to update this one!
We love to travel, spent a school year in Mexico, and another divided between 3 months in an RV traveling down the eastern seaboard, 3 months home, and then 3 traveling in Asia.
I'm not a big "out about town" gal. I prefer hanging out with Craig and Garvin, but now that our son has graduated, Craig and I have to get a life!!
I really like food, collecting recipes, planning meals and then eating!! I love flowers and pretty gardens. When it comes to housecleaning, I will happily forgo cleaning more often than not if family time is an option.
I've worked in business -- sales and marketing, taught middle school, and now conduct wedding ceremonies for people who want to get married in the mountains.
Exerciser was NEVER my thing. I wasn't at all sporty or athletic in school, and I'm not very coordinated or graceful. Ballet as a 10 year old . . . not pretty. I was round and klutzy, didn't have a ballerina body AT ALL!!! In the past few years I hiked with Shep and went to a yoga class here and there, skiing some on the weekends, but working out wasn't my cup of tea. (though I do love tea!!!)
Took various aerobics classes over the years. Hated them. Always behind, always going left when I should be going right. Felt like a dope. So I kept on with yoga and hiking, and maintained a good weight, but knew I could be in better shape.
Enter my sisters -- one lost 35 pounds over the past several years, and started running triathlons. The other has 8 children and is in great shape. How? Beachbody. That got my attention. So I got busy.
I'm in the best shape of my life as an 'over 50' gal and people are noticing! I wasn't overweight, but wanted to improve my muscle tone, strength and aerobic stamina. There are muscles on the sides of my abs which I didn't even know were there, and my arms, well, they never looked like this before! I still have some work to do on my legs -- I'd like a little more tone on those thighs -- work in progress.
Now I get up early to get my Beachbody workout in before the day gets going. Who'd have thunk it?!!! Certainly not me. Wasn't a morning person, wasn't an exerciser, but Beachbody gave me a system to follow with proven routines, meal plans, and a portion sizing system that's so easy.
Going to a gym isn't my thing, but being able to exercise when I want in my own home, with industry recognized workout routines, that IS for me!


Ok, so far left is Before T25, middle is After T25 and right is just a few weeks ago, before PiYo. The changes aren't huge, but hopefully you can see a difference around my waist, and the definition on the sides of my abs in the PiYo photo on the right.
And, do you think I need to come up with a new outfit for photos?!!! : )
